Everything drivers usually ask before booking a dashboard or navigation conversion — supported brands, pricing, timing, and what happens to your maps and Bluetooth afterwards. Tap a question to see its answer.
What is a dashboard or navigation conversion?
Many Japanese-import vehicles arrive in Barbados with their dashboard, navigation and infotainment menus set in Japanese. A conversion is a software-level change carried out by our technicians that switches the menus, settings, warning messages and navigation prompts over to English, without altering the underlying hardware.
Which makes and models do you support?
We regularly convert Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Lexus, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Suzuki vehicles. We have dedicated packages for popular imports such as the Nissan Kicks, Serena (C26/C27), Leaf (ZE0/AZE0/ZE1) and E-NV200, Honda CR-V and Civic, and Suzuki Swift (2016 onward). If you do not see your vehicle listed, give us a call — most Japanese-market models can be converted.
How long does a conversion take?
It depends on the package. A single stereo conversion usually takes around 30 minutes, an OBD-based conversion around 45 minutes, and a full dashboard and navigation conversion is typically 60 to 180 minutes. Our Premium Complete Package, which covers dashboard, navigation, climate, audio, safety systems and connectivity, can take up to four hours. Same-day service is available on most bookings — call ahead and we will reserve your slot.
Is the conversion reversible, and does it affect my warranty?
The conversion works at the software and settings level rather than replacing components, and every conversion we carry out includes a full warranty from NaviSystems 246. If you have specific questions about how a conversion interacts with your vehicle manufacturer’s warranty, our team is happy to talk you through it before you book.
Will my maps, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto still work afterwards?
Yes. A conversion changes the language of your menus and prompts — it does not remove functionality. Our Kenwood and Mitsubishi/Diatone Sound stereo conversions specifically preserve FM radio and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, and navigation, Bluetooth and connectivity settings continue to work as before, now in English.
How much does a conversion cost?
Pricing depends on the vehicle and scope of work, from single-system conversions (climate and audio controls, navigation only, stereo systems) through to our Full Vehicle and Premium Complete packages. Use the service finder on our homepage or the online booking wizard to see an exact price for your vehicle and preferred package before you commit.
How do I book, and how do I pay?
Booking takes under two minutes online: choose your service, pick a convenient time slot, and confirm your details through our booking wizard. Bring your vehicle to our service centre at your appointment time — our team will confirm payment details when you book or on arrival.
Do you take fleet, garage or dealer enquiries?
Yes — we work with garages, dealers and fleet operators who need multiple vehicles converted. Contact us by phone or email to discuss volume pricing and scheduling, and we will put together a plan that fits around your workshop.
Where are you located and what are your opening hours?
You will find our address, phone number and current opening hours on our Contact page. Appointment slots are available Monday to Saturday, and you can pick a time that suits you when you book online.
Do I need to leave my vehicle, or can I wait?
Most conversions are quick enough that you are welcome to wait on-site while we work. For longer packages, such as the Premium Complete Package, you are welcome to drop your vehicle off and collect it later the same day. Let us know your preference when you book.
Still have questions?
We’re happy to talk it through — or just book and ask on the day.
